Word comes after another report notes Astros owner Jim Crane spoke with him and extended a contract.

Brian McTaggart with MLB said on Twitter: “Dusty Baker confirms he’ll return to manage the Astros in 2023, though the contract isn’t finalized: ‘I always said if I win one, I want two. I like to keep my word. This is as much fun as I’ve had ever.’”

Another report by USA Today’s Bob Nightengale said on Tuesday that general manager James Click also met with Crane who planned to extend a formal contract to him as well.

The reports come on the heels of the Astros World Series win in Houston, and could begin the architecture for another winning season for the home team.
