Man charged in North Harris County shooting that killed 1, injured 4-year-old girl

CYPRESS, Texas – A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a double shooting in North Harris County after a man was killed and a 4-year-old child was injured.

Dornell Jenkins, 26, was charged with fatally shooting 31-year-old Denovist Hall.

On April 26, deputies responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 990 block of Cypress Station around 7:18 p.m.

Deputies said Hall was shot to death while he was walking in a parking lot. Deputies said the girl, who was sitting inside a car with her family, was also shot and flown via Life Flight to a hospital in critical condition. Deputies said she is now in stable condition with serious injuries.

Jenkins’ bond was set at $100,000 with conditions of a no-contact order with the victim’s family, house arrest, GPS monitoring, travel restrictions, no drugs, and no firearms or deadly weapons.
