Man charged after another man injured in shooting outside Houston bar, police say

HOUSTON – Charges have been filed against a man accused of shooting another man at a Houston bar early Sunday morning, according to Houston police.

Ronald Kent McClelland, 40, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a weapon.

The shooting was reported around 12:30 a.m. at a bar in the 4700 block of Emancipation Avenue.

Police said McClelland and a 32-year-old man began fighting inside the club when McClelland shot him.

The man was taken to a nearby trauma center where doctors said he is expected to recover. McClelland was arrested at the scene and later charged.
