Deputies identify man wanted in connection with fatal shooting at Atascocita High School

HOUSTON – Police are searching for the man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting at Atascocita High School in Humble.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Jaqwaun Pradia, 19, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of 19-year-old Eric Willis.

Officials said a group of about 20 to 30 young men had jumped the fence and were playing on a football field near 1330 Will Clayton Parkway on Sunday when an argument broke out between Pradia and Willis.

Willis and Pradia are two former Humble Independent School District students and have a history of disputes, authorities said. Deputies said Pradia showed up at the field armed with a pistol. He chased Willis down the field and shot him multiple times, officials said.

Pradia fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. Willis was rushed to Kingwood Hospital, where he later died.

Investigators said multiple witnesses identified Pradia as the shooter. A warrant has been issued for Pradia’s arrest.
