‘Hammy’ the Pearland pig finds new home

PEARLAND, Texas – "Hammy," the pig who was up for adoption at a Pearland animal shelter, found a new home Friday.

The adult pot-bellied pig was abandoned by his previous owner in December. He was found by the shelter when he broke into a home, trying to find food.

On Friday, the shelter posted a picture of a couple posing with "Hammy," saying he has found his "furever home."

Workers at the shelter recommended that "Hammy" spend time inside the home with his adoptive family.

Swine are not allowed to live in homes in Pearland. The couple who adopted the pig lives outside the city limits.

"Hammy" has found his furever home with two sister pigs! Thank you for everyone who shared him and helped get him adopted!
