HOUSTON – Chipotle wants to send some love to health care workers and first responders on the frontlines during the coronavirus pandemic.
The popular Mexican food chain announced via Twitter on Tuesday they want to give away 250,000 free burritos to any “health care hero” this Thursday.

Fans are encouraged to spread the word via social media with caring messages to all health care heroes, Chipotle said.

To qualify for the free entrée, healthcare workers can apply here starting Thursday at 10 a.m. to receive their unique code for redemption at their local Chipotle restaurant. Codes can also be redeemed when building your order online.
Health care workers who apply for the free entrée must show I.D. for verification.
Customers who want to support health care workers can also purchase a gift card from Chipotle, where 10% of all gift card purchases will be donated to American Nurses Association to help with scholarships, education, and research, Chipotle said in a news release. The promotion is ongoing until May 9.
