HOUSTON – Houston-based brewer Karbach Brewing Co. announced Monday they launched a program supporting farmers and ranchers affected by the pandemic and February’s winter storm.

In a news release, Karbach said it launched its Restoring the Ranch program to bring awareness to financial challenges in Texas farmers and ranchers, noting that Texas restaurants would not exist without the agricultural industry.

“(Farmers) have not had an easy year by any means, but surprisingly their situation is one that doesn’t get talked about enough among Texans,” said David Graham, director of Marketing at Karbach. “That’s why we’re especially proud to launch the Karbach Restoring the Ranch Program, to not only give back to two deserving folks in the agriculture industry, but to further amplify the conversation around how Texas can come together to support farmers and ranchers.”

Texans can nominate two ranchers either on social media for a chance to receive the grant up until June 1. Each winning rancher or farmer will receive a $10,000 grant.

To be eligible, they must own a farm or ranch with a minimum of 50 acres in Texas and be 21 or older.

To nominate a rancher, Texans can submit an Instagram post with a photo, caption, and the hashtag #KarbachRanchWaterContest or by submitting a photo online here.
